BJP veteran and former Deputy PM LK Advani admitted to AIIMS

NEW DELHI: Bharat Ratna winner, former Deputy Prime Minister and BJP founder LK Advani has been admitted to AIIMS. He was recently admitted to AIIMS Delhi due to age-related problems. According to hospital sources, his condition is being monitored. But this has not been officially announced.

He is currently in the geriatric ward for adults. Three months ago, 96-year-old Lal Krishna Advani was awarded the country's highest honour, the Bharat Ratna at his residence in Delhi. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and his family members were present at the ceremony where President Draupadi Murmu handed over the Bharat Ratna.

He held the post of Deputy Prime Minister in the Vajpayee Cabinet from June 2002 to May 2004. He was a Union Minister from 1999 to 2004. He became the president of BJP several times. He led the party from 1986 to 1990, from 1993 to 1998 and then from 2004 to 2005.
