Couple, 15-year-old son found dead in car under mysterious circumstances

CHANDIGARH: The bodies of a couple and their son were found inside a car parked on the roadside. The bodies were found inside a Toyota Fortuner SUV near the national highway at Tepla Banur in Punjab's Patiala district. The bodies of a Mohali-based property dealer, Sandeep Singh Rajpal (45), his wife Mandeep Kaur (42), and their son Abhay Singh (15) were found.

Police officer Manjit Singh said the incident is suspected to be a suicide and that all possible investigations will be carried out. Farmers in the area first saw the parked vehicle and the bodies in it. They informed the police. All three had bullet wounds on their bodies. Blood had splattered on the plastics inside the cabin. Sandeep Singh's body was in the driver's seat, his wife was in the front passenger seat and their son in the back seat.

Police and forensic teams reached the spot and conducted an investigation. Preliminary investigation indicated Sandeep Singh committed suicide after shooting his wife and son. Sandeep Singh is a resident of Sikhwala village in Bhatinda, has been living in Mohali for the last eight years. His brother lives in their Bathinda village, while his sister lives abroad. They have been informed about the incident. Their son had some mental health issues and this may have led them to take the extreme step.
