NEW DELHI: The Ram temple in Ayodhya has been illuminated with the light of 28 lakh diyas. RamLalla's first Diwali after the temple was inaugurated in January turned out to be a festival of lights in Ayodhyanagari and the banks of the Saryu. Ayodhya was filled with colourful light. Lakhs of earthen lamps were lit, including on the banks of the Saryu River. The event is likely to enter the Guinness World Records.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his council of ministers lit the earthen lamps and inaugurated the event. This is the eighth time that a deepotsav is being organised in Ayodhya on Diwali. Yogi Adityanath said it was a proud moment. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for opening the temple.
A light and sound show and a laser show on Ramayana were also organized. The performances were conducted by artists from Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Indonesia.
