NEW DELHI: International liquor manufacturers Anheuser-Busch InBev is all set to launch a new beer targeting the Indian market. They are the makers of top-notch beers such as Budweiser, Corona Extra, and Hoegaarden. Named Seven Rivers, the new beer will be made from locally sourced raw materials such as wheat, said the makers. The beer will be available only in India and is not targeted for overseas markets for the time being, company officials said.
The beer will be launched first in Karnataka and Maharashtra. After observing the response, sales will be extended to Delhi, Goa, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The manufacturers believe that Seven Rivers will be able to capture the market very quickly as it will be a product that favours the Indian tastes.
Seven Rivers is priced at Rs130 for a 500ml can in Karnataka and ₹165 for a 500ml can in Maharashtra. Due to high demand for wheat beer in India, the company plans to produce strong wheat beer and mild wheat beer.
