MUMBAI: Stock markets have been battered by US President Donald Trump's tariff war. All Asian stocks have been crashed. BSE Sensex fell 2564 points to 72,799.95 points and ASE Nifty plunged 831.95 points to 22,072.50.
With the fall in stock markets, the world has been facing fears of a trade war. Foreign financial institutions are selling stocks from the Indian market. Along with this, the value of the rupee is also falling against the dollar. It fell by 50 paise as soon as trading began.
Dr V K Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services, said that global markets are going through high volatility due to uncertainty. He added that no one has a clue about how this turmoil caused by Trump's tariff will evolve.
