NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has issued a stern warning to the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking at a public event in Delhi, Amit Shah said that not even a single terrorist who carried out the attack will be spared. He said that the Prime Minister has already declared India's stand on the issue and affirmed that India will retaliate precisely.
Following the Prime Minister's statement that the timing and nature of the response will be decided appropriately, the Indian Army has begun preparing an action plan. The Army Chief had briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of this plan just the previous day. The first meeting of the recently restructured National Security Committee was also held the other day to assess the military response.
At the same time, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition demanding a judicial inquiry into the Pahalgam terror attack. The bench, led by Justice Surya Kant, questioned the petitioners, asking whether their intention was to demoralise the armed forces ahead of any military action. The petition was filed by Fateh Kumar Sahu, Mohammad Junaid and Vicky Kumar, all residents of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a major arms cache was recovered by security forces near the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar, Punjab. The cache was found during a joint search operation conducted yesterday evening in Bharopal, Amritsar, by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police. According to officials, the seized items included two hand grenades, three guns, six magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition.
