Anant Ambani, the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, is a name that Indians are unlikely to forget anytime soon—thanks to his lavish pre-wedding celebrations held a few months ago, which amazed the world with their opulence. The event, attended by global billionaires, made waves across social media and the business world alike. Now, Anant Ambani’s salary package from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is making headlines.
As part of his new role as Executive Director at Reliance Industries Limited, Anant Ambani will receive an annual compensation package ranging from Rs 10 crore to Rs 20 crore, along with a profit-based commission and numerous executive perks, according to the company. The information was shared with shareholders via a postal ballot notice.
“The salary, benefits, and allowances will range from Rs 10 crore to Rs 20 crore per annum. In addition to this, Anant M. Ambani is eligible for profit-linked compensation,” the letter stated. The package also includes housing or house rent allowance, allowances for gas, electricity, and water, leave travel concessions for family, travel and accommodation expenses (including for spouse and attendant), company-provided vehicles, communication expenses, medical reimbursements, and security for Anant and his family.
This appointment marks a significant step in Mukesh Ambani's succession planning at Reliance. Last year, Anant, along with his siblings Akash and Isha, was appointed as a non-executive director on the RIL board. At the time, they were not eligible for salaries but received Rs 4 lakh as sitting fees and Rs 97 lakh as commission each for the financial year 2023–24.
In April 2024, Anant became the first among the three siblings to be elevated to an executive director role. A graduate of Brown University, Anant also serves on the boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures.
