KOZHIKODE: The police have removed the mystery in the murder of 10th class student Nasreena in Moozhikkal. The police have found that the accused Adnan threw the mobile phones in the well after killing Nasreena. The police have concluded that the reason for the murder was anger over finding the theft and resentment over being thrown out of the house. Nasreena and Adnan's phones were earlier found in the well.
Adnan entered Nasreena's house at around 7:30 pm on April 13. He entered the house when the inmates of the house were engaged in Vishu celebrations. Before that, he turned off the CCTV camera in the kitchen. It is believed that Adnan entered the girl's room and committed the murder at around 8 pm.
He killed Nasreena by strangling her with a shawl. Hearing the noise, the family rushed to the spot. After locking Adnan in a room, they took Nasreena, who was struggling to breathe, to the hospital. However, she died before reaching there.
When the family returned from the hospital and tried to open the room where Adnan had been locked, it was bolted from inside. When they pushed open the door and entered, they found Adnan dead. Cellophane tape was twined on his face and mouth.
Nasreena and Adnan are the grandchildren of Hamsa and Safiya in Moozhikkal Poothamkuzhi. Nasreena and her family live in the ancestral house in Moozhikkal. Although Adnan's house is in Ponnani, he was living in the ancestral house until six months ago. Money had been missing from here several times. Nasreena informed her family that Adnan had stolen the money. Soon after this Adnan was thrown out from the ancestral house. It is reported that the enmity on this led to the murder.
