Attempt to kill family by passing electricity from meter to door in Neyyattinkara

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was an attempt to kill a family by passing electricity from the meter to door. The incident happened at Manchavilakam in Neyyattinkara. The murder attempt was in Ramya’s house where she lives with her two children. A wire from the electricity meter was attached and twisted around the front door of the house.

Ramya's eldest son Alan received a shock when he opened the door this morning. He escaped miraculously and when he came out through another door, saw power being passed from the meter. He then informed the locals and Ramya's brother. On being informed, the Marayamuttam police reached the spot and examined. The forensic team is presently conducting an examination.

Ramya has been estranged from her husband for a long time. The police are investigating whether a family dispute was behind the murder attempt. The police said the statements of the family members will be recorded.
