25-year-old woman of TN found dead in rented house; husband taken into custody

PALAKKAD: A woman of Tamil Nadu was found dead at her rented house in Ottapalam. The police have taken her husband into custody. The woman dead is Krishnaveni (25) of Kothampadi village in Attur block in Salem of Tamil Nadu. The Ottapalam police have taken her husband Manikandan of Attur into custody. An investigation has started and is suspected to be a murder.

Krishnaveni's family has been living in and around Ottapalam for the past 10 years. She was found dead at around 10 pm last night in the rented house on Vivekananda Road in Thennady Bazaar. The locals have informed the police that her husband Manikandan comes home drunk daily and creates a commotion in the house. The residents of the adjacent room first saw her dead. They then informed the police.

Manikandan is being questioned by the police. The woman's body has been shifted to Thrissur Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Police and forensic teams led by Shoranur DySP Saju K Abraham reached the spot and started investigation. Venkatachalam is Krishnaveni's father and mother is Kaveri.
