Captures nude pics of former wife, sends it to notorious criminal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information has surfaced in connection with the suicide of a housewife in Vattiyoorkavu. Her former husband beat her brutally and then captured her nude pics and then sent it to his neighbour, an accused in many cases, on his mobile phone. Depressed over it, Shreeja (46) of Shreejitha Bhavan of Vattiyoorkavu Manikandeswaram Cheenikonam, committed suicide.

Police said that she has mentioned all this in the suicide note. Her former husband Sreejith (47) of Perumkadavila Thathamala, was arrested and produced in the court and remanded. The couple got divorced five days ago. Sreejith is an accused in the case of sexually abusing a minor girl in 2021. Sreeja distanced from him after this.

The couple estranged for quite some time got divorce from the court on June 22. He barged into Sreeja’s house on the night of June 24 and beat her cruelly. He then asked her to vacate the house and demanded to write the house in his name.

Sreeja developed uneasiness and in the meantime, he tore her clothes, captured her nude pictures on his mobile phone. He then threatened to circulate the pictures if the house and land are not written in his name. Later he sent the pictures to his neighbour, a notorious criminal. Sreejith has been charged with inciting suicide, threatening after capturing nude pics, wrongful imprisonment and inflicting bodily harm.
