THIRUVANANTHAURAM: A case has been registered against former minister and RSP state secretary Shibu Baby John on a complaint that a flat was not handed over despite paying the money. The case was registered by the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Police. The complaint is that money was received after promising to build a flat on the land which is in the name of Shibu Baby John and his family. The case was registered on the complaint filed by Alex of Kumarapuram.
There was an agreement between Shibu Baby John's family and the construction company. According to this agreement, the flat was not handed over despite paying the money in 2020. The police had initially dismissed the complaint, stating that it was a civil case. However, the case was registered after the complainant filed a complaint against the police with the chief minister and the DGP. The complainant had paid Rs 15 lakh to the construction company called Anda Constructions.
Meantime, Shibu Baby John responded that he had not even met the person who filed the case yet. He said that he had not received a single rupee in the flat transaction yet. 'It is very strange. Came to know about the case four to five days back. We have not even met the complainant. We have not received a single rupee from them. A developer came to our land. The transactions were between him and the contractor. The transaction was made between the family and the developer in 2019.
Shibu Baby John said at that time, they said would build four flats. In the meantime, they had financial problems. Therefore, they could not complete the things mentioned in the agreement. We have not received a single rupee. We are also in a state of being cheated. Only the foundation was built. The project has been stalled. There was a dispute between the developer and the contractor and that issue is in the court now,’ he said.
