Man attempts to set couple on fire in Kochi, commits suicide

KOCHI: A man attempted to set a couple on fire before committing suicide in Vaduthala, Kochi. The deceased has been identified as William, a native of Pachalam. The couple, who suffered severe burn injuries, have been admitted to the hospital.

The incident is believed to have been triggered by a dispute between two families living behind Lourde Hospital in Vaduthala. William, a neighbour, reportedly entered the couple’s house and tried to kill them by setting them on fire.

Locals who noticed the fire rushed to the scene and took the couple to the hospital. During the subsequent investigation, William was found dead. Further details about the incident are yet to emerge. Police have reached the spot and begun further proceedings.
