Man beaten to death after argument during drinking session

AROOR: A man was beaten to death by a three-member gang following an argument during drinking. The deceased has been identified as Felix Jose (28), son of Jose and Jessy, hailing from Chanthiroor in Aroor. The police have taken 2 suspects into custody.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday at 10:30 pm. Felix, a tile worker, arrived at night after working at a resort near Munnar. The argument took place while he was drinking with his friends at a field near the house. Felix was hit in the face with a stone and on his head with a helmet. An 18-year-old member of the group tried to stop the beating, but the others chased him away. After the beating, the accused escaped. A passer-by first saw Felix lying unconscious and bleeding heavily. Locals and police rushed him to Ernakulam General Hospital but he died around 12 midnight.

Felix is single. Siblings: Fredin Jose and Febin Jose. After the postmortem, the funeral was held on Friday evening. Police, dog squad, finger print and forensic team reached the spot and collected evidence. Aroor CI PS Subramanian is investigating the case.
