Noose tightens for Sanju techy and friends; Police to take strict action

ALAPPUZHA: The police will register a case against YouTuber Sanju Techy for setting up a swimming pool inside his car and filling it with car. The video shows Sanju and his friends enjoying in the car while driving. A case will be registered by the Mannancherry police on the complaint of RTO for driving the vehicle carelessly. The report on the case registered by the RTO will be handed over to the Alappuzha court today. The proceedings are based on the high court’s directive to initiate action against Sanju.

His friends will also face action. The police had the other day taken Sanju’s Tata Safari into custody. The high court had directed the RTO to submit a detailed report on Sanju’s actions and that the steps taken against him presently are not enough.

A video posted by Sanju on YouTube mocking RTO’s punitive measures had stoked a controversy. The motor vehicle department later decided to tighten steps. Sanju said in the video that after filing the case, that his reach in the YouTube channel increased and thanked everyone for the reach that he could not get even after spending Rs 10 lakh.

The Alappuzha Enforcement RTO had taken action against Sanju and his friends for driving the car on the public road. The registration of the vehicle was cancelled and the license of his friend, who drove the car, was suspended for a year.

They were asked to attend an awareness class of the motor vehicle department in Kuttippuram and to do community service in Alappuzha Medical College. He then uploaded a new video mocking the motor vehicle department and the media. The division bench of the high court intervened after noticing the YouTube video.
