THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is reported that DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib has recommended a vigilance inquiry against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. The report also said the action is being taken against Ajith Kumar on allegations of amassing illegal wealth levelled by Anwar.

Investigation has been recommended in five thins such as illegal acquisition of wealth in names of his relatives and construction of a luxury house in Kowdiar. DGP’s recommendation to government will be forwarded to the vigilance. Vigilance chief Yogesh Gupta will personally investigate the case if investigation is announced. The chief minister's decision on the investigation is likely to come today.

As there are allegations of murder and kidnapping, the investigation is getting tougher. As part of this, the DGP will issue a notice to record the statement of Ajith Kumar on Anwar's complaint. It is informed that the instruction is to record the statement directly or prepared in writing. There will be action in this regard after Onam.

Meantime, in the LDF leadership meeting held yesterday, the CPI and RJD demanded that Ajit Kumar be removed from the law and order charge, but the chief minister insisted that in the case of an inquiry against the ADGP, it is enough to think about the action after the report is out. DGP's inquiry will include all allegations. When he clarified that any other action would lead to legal and technical problems, everyone agreed.

LDF convener TP Ramakrishnan said in a press conference that the issue related to ADGP is not whether meeting RSS leaders but why he met them. Anwar levelled the allegations against the ADGP. The home department initiated a comprehensive investigation into this. Strict action will be taken.

The front is convinced that the government has taken an appropriate stand. Cannot be punished on the basis of accusation. It is a matter for the government to consider the transfer of ADGP from the law and order role. Speaker is an independent title. He decides what to say and what not to say.

All the allegations raised by Anwar will be investigated. There is no mention of chief minister's Political Secretary P Sasi. Making accusations every day is not a good sign. P V Anwar is not Left Front, he is only a member. T P Ramakrishnan said Anwar is not forming the policy.
