THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is more or less confirmed that K B Ganesh Kumar will not lose his ministerial berth, but LDF's headache remains. Why was the minister protected when he faced serious allegations? Why was a case not filed? Why did the minister not resign? The Chief Minister and the Left Front will be bombarded with these questions in the coming days.

The government was somehow repairing the dent in its image by implementing big projects when the Ganesh issue came out of nowhere. It is learnt that Ganesh reached a compromise with his wife Bindu, who had levelled the allegations. However, even alliance partners of LDF are not happy with Ganesh having a free run despite being caught with his shenanigans.

Ganesh Kumar met the Chief Minister after the cabinet meeting yesterday morning.

The government that boasts often about protecting women’s rights and that even hollered for Rahul Mamkootathil’s removal, suddenly going silent on Ganesh Kumar, raised eyebrows. UDF will definitely use this as a weapon to show the world LDF’s hypocrisy. Bindu's revelation that she had also told the Chief Minister's daughter about the incident also adds to the seriousness of the issue.

Minister Ganesh Kumar, who admitted that there was a lapse on his part through an apology, took up a defiant tone later to confirm that he would contest again in Pathanapuram. The minister also participated in a public event yesterday.
