THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister G. R. Anil piled all blame on the central government for the state's crippling economic crisis. He was inaugurating SupplyCo's Christmas-New Year Fair at Putharikandam Maidanam.
"Domestic tax collection is at its best. Yet the Center has not paid the Rs 57,000 crore that Kerala is entitled to for a year. Rs 954 crore given by the Food Department for the procurement of paddy was also withheld by the Centre. The Center owes Rs 6,000 crores that Kerala has provided in various schemes implemented in association with the Center in each department.
The central government feels that pensions are unnecessary and food subsidies should not be given to all. In Kerala, the central government allows only 43 per cent of subsidized goods in place of 57 per cent. Most people in the state are not aware of the vile tactics employed by the centre. It was to convey such truths that the NKS event was held." said Minister Anil.
