THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Special teams of the National Disaster Response Force have set out to various districts of Kerala following the warning of heavy rains and cyclones in the state due to low pressure. The authorities have decided to deploy 9 teams of the Disaster Management Force in Kerala.
National Disaster Response Force teams will be deployed in Wayanad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kollam and Idukki. A 20-member team will reach Pathanamthitta at 1 am.
Meanwhile, the district collector said that the Covid vaccination scheduled for Friday in Kollam has been postponed due to the red alert declared in the district.
The district collector has informed that there will be no vaccination tomorrow as a red alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram too. Those who have booked will be considered for vaccination on Saturday
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts of the state for low pressure in the Arabian Sea. The Met Office has forecast heavy rains. Therefore, the public and government agencies have been instructed to complete all preparations on a wartime basis and exercise extreme caution.
