SIVAGIRI: The people who worship Sree Narayana Gurudeva cannot tolerate Aluva Municipality destroying the boards and yellow flags with pictures of Gurudeva, installed by SNDP Yogam at the Aluva Advaita Ashram, on the occasion of Gurudeva Jayanti, said Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda.
"The flags and decorations for the Jayanti celebrations at the Ashram were not placed in a public place, but in the Ashram compound itself. The flags and decorations for the month-long celebrations that would last until the 14th were destroyed. The municipality insulted Guru and the movement under the guise of a court order that flags and decorations should not be placed in public places. Despite the Ashram representatives' request not to destroy them, they not only destroyed the flags in a contemptuous manner, but also dumped them in the Municipality's waste disposal centre. This is disgusting and an insult to the Gurudeva movement."
"Those responsible for this unforgivable crime should be punished in an exemplary manner as soon as possible and justice should be done," demanded Swami Sachidananda, Dharmasangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda, and Treasurer Swami Saradananda.
"All the monks of the Sivagiri Mutt, the workers of the Gurudharma Pracharana Sabha and the Sree Narayana community across the country are protesting the action of the Aluva Municipality. An unforgivable crime has been committed by the Aluva Municipality, which is a reproach to Guru and the entire Gurudeva movement," said Swamy Asangananda Giri, secretary of the Gurudharma Pracharana Sabha. If there is a delay in taking strong action against those who committed this serious crime, a widespread agitation will be organized under the leadership of the Gurudharma Pracharana Sabha with the participation of the believers, Asangananda Swami said.
