Eight more nipah test results negative; Total negative samples now 66, says Health Minister

KOZHIKODE: Health Minister Veena George informed that the Nipah test results of eight people came out negative. A total of 66 samples have been negative so far. Two new people were admitted.

Eight people are currently undergoing treatment in Manjeri and Kozhikode Medical Colleges. Minister Veena George participated online in the Nipah review meeting held at the Malappuram Collectorate this evening.

472 people are currently in the contact list. 220 of them are in the high risk category. As part of Nipah prevention activities, the home visits of health workers in Pandikkad and Anakkayam Panchayats have been completed. Visited 1477 houses today. A total of 27,908 houses have been visited so far. 227 people received mental health services today.

Everyone on the contact list should strictly follow isolation guidelines. Isolation is 21 days. Discharged persons should also follow isolation guidelines. The minister said that strict action will be taken against those who do not follow the guidelines.
