Government announces Rs 1 lakh compensation for families on Attapadi infant death

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The state government has announced compensation to the families in connection with the Attappadi child deaths. Rs 1 lakh will be given to the families of the 23 deceased children who died in 25 months.

Compensation is given for the infant deaths reported from 2017 to 2019. Earlier, the National Human Rights Commission has directed the state government to provide assistance to those families. The decision has been taken to provide Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the decesed children, the Palakkad Collector has earlier given a report about this.
