THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has warned coastal areas to be vigilant as the sea is likely to be turbulent till May 19. People in coastal areas should exercise caution due to high tidal waves in the area between 11 am and 2 pm and from 10.30 pm to midnight.
Extreme levels of rainfall during high tide can affect the flow of rainwater into the sea and flood low-lying areas. Fishing gear should be moved to a safe place. Fishermen will not be allowed to go fishing off the coast of Kerala and Lakshadweep till the end of the fishing ban.
