CHIRAYINKEEZHU: C. Vishnubhakthan, Managing Director of New Rajasthan Marbles and President of the SNDP Yogam Chirayinkeezhu Union, has announced that he will build a house for the family of eight-year-old Dikshal, who tragically died from a snakebite while asleep.
Vishnubhakthan, who is currently in Canada, learned about the heartbreaking incident through the Kerala Kaumudi e-paper. He contacted both the family and the news outlet via phone to express his willingness to provide a permanent home.
The lack of a secure house is believed to have led to the snakebite incident. According to the family's wishes, a 750-square-foot house with all modern amenities will be constructed within three months. Vishnubhakthan is expected to reach Kerala within a week to visit the family and finalise the construction plans.
The family currently lives on a five-cent plot of land donated by a kind-hearted individual. Their temporary shelter consists of two cramped rooms with plywood walls and a tin sheet roof. The floors are unfinished, and there is barely enough space for the six family members and their belongings. The surrounding area is overgrown with bushes, making it a breeding ground for snakes.
C Vishnubhakthan is well-known for his philanthropic activities. Through New Rajasthan Marbles, he provides construction materials like granite, tiles, and sanitaryware worth Rs 50,000 for just Rs 10,000 to families struggling to complete houses under the Life Mission project. He also provides Rs 1 lakh monthly for the treatment of dialysis and cancer patients recommended by the Superintendent of the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital.
"I felt deeply saddened after reading about Dikshal’s tragic death in Kerala Kaumudi. I will support the family by building them a proper home," said C. Vishnubhakthan.
