A relief to Suja's plight; Revenue minister seeks report on providing path to her house

PATHANAMTHITTA: Revenue minister K Rajan has directed Pathanamthitta collector Divya S Iyer to submit a report on providing path to the house of Suja who carries her paralyzed husband Das on her shoulder. She has been doing it for eight years.

Kerala Kaumudi had published a story about their plight on yesterday. The minister intervened as the news came to his attention. The collector directed the Tehsildar, Thiruvalla to visit the house and submit a report.

Das will receive Rs 50,000 assistance from the labor department. The Human Rights Commission has registered a case in this regard.
