PAMPA: Devaswom minister Kadakmapally Surendran has clarified that the government will not allow activists to turn the holy shrine of Sabarimala to a place to show off their strength. Protection will be ensured for all devotees, he added. "The police should have cross checked the background of these women. We will not turn Sabarimala to a place of conflicts", said Kadakampally after directing two women, who climbed Sabarimala to go back.
Women journalists were heckled, their vehicles smashed and young female Ayyappa devotees turned back as hordes of activists of Hindu fringe groups besieged the road leading to the temple on the two previous days.
