THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The files approved illegally, even after the resignation of Sanskrit University vice chancellor Dr K. K. Geethakumari, were cancelled. VC Prof. Ciza Thomas took the action.

On March 5, at 4 pm, Dr K K Geethakumari, a Sanskrit professor at Calicut University, was removed from the post of VC and replaced by Dr Ciza Thomas, VC of Technical University. Dr Geethakumari immediately resigned from the post and left the university. However mysteriously, the same night, about forty files late were approved, which required the Vice Chancellor’s permission.

The action from Ciza Thomas came after the investigation found the complaint filed by the Save University Campaign Committee to be genuine.

A detailed investigation is required to find the person who approved the files illegally. The possibility of someone else using the VC's password will also be examined. Dr Ciza Thomas cancelled the orders for all files approved after 4 pm. The registrar has been instructed to submit all the files directly to the VC. The VC has asked the registrar to investigate the circumstances under which the files were approved. The orders were issued after complaints of widespread irregularities in examinations and student admissions were raised.
