Tiff with mayor: Police with new report against Yadhu, driver suspected for loss of memory card

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police is behind the KSRTC driver Yadhu, who got into an argument with Mayor Arya Rajendran in the middle of the road. The report of the police said that on the day of the spat with the mayor, Yadhu was seen talking on the phone for about an hour while driving the bus. A report will also be given to KSRTC on it.

The police found that Yadhu was seen talking on the phone several times for an hour, when the bus started from Thrissur and reached Palayam where the tiff broke out with the mayor. During this long journey, the bus stopped and rested for less than 10 minutes. The police clarified that Yadhu was seen talking on the phone throughout the journey. Driving a vehicle while talking on the phone is a serious offence.

Meanwhile, reports said Yadhu is being suspected on the loss of the memory card from the CCTV camera on the bus. The police said that Yadhu was seen near the bus parked at Thampanoor depot on the next day of the incident. His phone call details will also be examined over the missing memory card. The police have also sought information from KSRTC as to when the memory card was installed in the camera. However, it is not clear whether KSRTC has replied to it.


Case registered as per court’s directive
A case was registered by the Cantonment Police as per the direction of the court over the spat between the two. Arya Rajendran, her husband Sachin Dev MLA and three other people known have been made accused in the case. A plea was filed on April 30 at the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court demanding Baiju Noel, lawyer of high court, to take up the case. Directed to register a case last evening. The police filed the FIR late last night. Charges for obstructing work, obstructing traffic and obstructing the freedom of movement of the public have been imposed.
