Vedan likely to fly abroad, strong investigation against rapper, police issue lookout notice

KOCHI: The police have issued a lookout notice against rapper Vedan, who is on the run, after a doctor filed a sexual abuse complaint against him. The police have taken further action after conducting a detailed investigation into the complaint against Vedan. The police said there are chances for him to fly abroad. The police are conducting an intensive search for him. As part of this, the police had gone to his house and his friends houses. In the meantime, Vedan had approached the court for anticipatory bail. However, the police have decided not to wait until the anticipatory bail plea is considered.

Vedan’s music concert to be held at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi, was postponed. The event was postponed after the organizers were unable to contact Vedan. Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya said the recording of witness statements in the case has begun. The investigation in Vedan's case is progressing. He also clarified that the investigation for Vedan is strong. The investigation in the case is being conducted by a team led by Thrikkakara ACP. Infopark SHO is presently in charge.

The police have confirmed her allegations that she had financial dealings with him. Her statement is that she was raped five times in Kozhikode, Kochi and Eloor. She also said that Vedan abused her under the influence of drugs. The names of friends who know all these things are in her statement.


The doctor had revealed that Vedan had been avoiding her since July 2023 and that he would not pick up the phone whenever called. The woman said that his withdrawal has mentally disturbed her and that she had transferred Rs 31,000 to Vedan on several occasions. She also presented the account details of her G Pay accounts. The police have registered a case against Vedan under the non-bailable section. Meantime, Vedan had responded then that he would proceed with legal action in the case filed against him.
