Whatsapp message sent to administrator’s phone; four arrested in Lakshadweep including three children 

​​​​​KAVARATTI: Police have nabbed four in Lakshadweep including three children. They were held by the police for sending messages to the administrator's phone. The arrested persons belong to Bitra and Agati islands.

Three children were nabbed from Agati island and Shafeeq, an electricity staff, was arrested from Bitra island. The message sent by Shafeeq to the administrator’s mobile was ‘hi.’

The arrest comes in the wake of mounting protests against the administrator. Five months after Praful Patel was appointed as administrator of the island, protests have been brewing against him inside and outside the islands. The major allegation against him is that the reforms undertaken by him have disrupted the peace and tranquillity of the people in the region.

Praful Patel was appointed as administrator in December as Dineshwar, the last administrator died in office due to respiratory ailments. He is the former deputy home minister of Gujarat.
