KOZHIKODE: New service prepared by KSRTC to travel around the city has become a huge hit. KSRTC depots receive more than 1000 calls every day from various schools and others for the journey. Many are postponed to the next few days. With the increase in applications, the authorities are planning to increase the number of services.
The service was started from February 1 under the name of 'A trip to know Kozhikode through Zamorin’s land'. Starting from KSRTC Bus stand, journey then continues to Planetarium, Thali Temple, Kuttchira Church, Kutchira pond, Kothi Beach, Nainam Valappu, South Beach, Gandhi Park, Bhatt road beach, English Church and Mananchira Square.
Many applications have already been received from schools from different parts of the district for this trip. Officials also say that many inquiries are coming.
The specialty of the trip is that you can see the city from 1 pm to 8 pm. There is one service daily. A bus carries 50-60 students. There will be 50 people in each service. It charges only 200 rupees. So, it has attracted many people. The city tour service was launched in the wake of the popularity of trips in KSRTC buses from the district to tourist spots in different parts of the state.
