NEW DELHI: In one of the largest placed deals, Air India ordered 500 aircraft, to assert its domination over domestic and international flights in the country. A major share of the order with 240 A320 Neo and 40 A350 aircraft, Boeing would supply 190 737 Max, 20 787, and 10 777x planes. A 430 narrowbody and 70 widebody aircraft are also cornered in the list. The dealings were inked on January 29th at the Tata and sons headquarters in Mumbai. The contract with European aircraft mavens Airbus was confirmed on Friday. This is the biggest order in recent times after the realms got back into the Tata sons group. The Air India group owned Vistara airlines earlier announced its merger with Singapore Airlines ltd. Indigo, the largest airline in India, is a loyal customer of Airbus with more than 320 aircraft on the run. Air India now with the latest clinch of a deal has upended its domination in India that looks to be unrivaled in the coming times.
