air-india

NEW DELHI: Air India has decided to temporarily suspend its flights to the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. The decision was taken in the context of the Israel-Iran conflict. Air India has been operating four weekly services between New Delhi and Tel Aviv.

An Air India flight safely landed in Tel Aviv yesterday at Tel Aviv International Airport and is scheduled to operate from Tel Aviv to India. Two major airlines, El Al and Air India, are operating commercial flights between Israel and India.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy has advised all Indian citizens in Israel to be vigilant and follow the safety instructions given by the authorities. The Embassy has also issued a 24-hour emergency helpline number for emergency assistance.

“For any urgent assistance, please contact the Embassy at: 24*7 Emergency Helpline/Contact Tel: 1. +972-547520711, +972- 543278392. Email: cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in,” it stated.

The Embassy has also directed the Indian citizens who have not yet registered with the Embassy to register immediately.

Iran and its proxies operating out of Yemen, Syria and Iraq launched more than 200 projectiles at Israel on Saturday night, including dozens of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

Tensions escalated between Iran and Israel amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
