KANNUR: PK Jayson, son of Left Front convener EP Jayarajan, has said that he has not decided to sell the shares of the controversial Videkam Resort.

It was only when the breaking news came on the channels that I came to know about the unthinkable. Following a probe by the Income Tax department last week, the shareholders' details and tax documents were handed over. We cannot sell the shares if my mother and I make the decision alone. The board of directors should take a decision. When this news came on the channels, I asked my father too. We don't understand how the news came without our knowledge. There is no time to find out who is behind the news. Information about shareholders is already in possession of the government. Jayson said that the full information has been re-provided as requested.

The news was that the shares would be transferred to someone outside the family. The documents were produced on Wednesday based on the notice issued by the TDS department. The notice asked who are the shareholders of Kannur Ayurvedic Medical Care, the owners of Videkam, and how many shares they have each. The documents of land purchase for the resort were also sought. The objective is to clarify the resort's financial resources and financial transactions.

92 lakh share for EP's family

  • Jayarajan's wife Indira and son Jayson own 9,199 shares. 81.99 lakhs for Indira and Rs.10 lakhs for Jason
  • Former MD KP Rameshkumar of Thalassery and his daughter have 9,999 shares worth Rs 99.99 lakh. Indira as an individual has more stake.
