Relief for Ciza Thomas; administrative tribunal blocks further action by government on the show cause notice

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a show-cause notice to Technical University VC Dr. Ciza Thomas, the administrative tribunal barred the government from further action. The action is on the petition of Ciza Thomas. Meanwhile, the tribunal directed Ciza Thomas to reply to the notice. The government has also been asked to give a detailed affidavit.

Governor Arif Muhammad Khan appointed Ciza Thomas as the VC after rejecting the names given by the government. A show-cause notice was issued to Higher Education Secretary Ciza Thomas for assuming the post of VC without prior approval. The show cause notice is issued after five months of assuming the charge.

Recently, Ciza was transferred from the Technical Education Department, but no replacement was given. Following Ciza's complaint, the Administrative Tribunal ordered that she should be appointed in Thiruvananthapuram.
