NEW DELHI: After the Vande Bharat trains, the Railways is all set to introduce Vande Metro trains. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that Vande Metro trains will start running by December. The minister also said that major cities located at a distance of less than 100 km are being planned to be connected through this metro rail network.

Vande Metro trains will run four to five times a day. These trains offer comfortable and low-cost travel. Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw said that such metro trains will be fully ready by December this year.

The minister added that with the coming of the new metro network, congestion in local trains will be reduced. The scheme is similar to regional trains in Europe. The aim of the project is to provide a world-class travel experience to the tourists.

Vande Metro trains are expected to have eight coaches. The minister also said that a test track for Vande Metro trains is being developed between Gudha and Thathana Mithri in Rajasthan's Jodhpur division. "Steerability test, curve test and accelerated test will all be conducted on this track. India will soon start exporting Vande Bharat trains", Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
