‘Will not work under any political party’; Johnny Nellore announces new party

KOCHI: Johnny Nellore who has resigned from Kerala Congress Joseph faction, has announced a new political party. The party has been named as ‘National Progressive Party’ (NPP). Johnny Nellore said that they don’t have connections with any other party and will not work under any party. The announcement of the new party was during the press conference held in Kochi.

Apart from Johnny Nellore, former MLAs Mathew Stephen, George Mathew and PM Mathew will be part of the party. It is reported that the party is having support of certain bishops of Syro Malabar church. Joy Abraham, general secretary of Christian group CASA has also joined the party.

Party Chairman VV Augustine is a former member of the National Commission for Minorities and former Global President of the Catholic Congress. He is also the President of the Rubber Farmers Federation. The vice chairmen are Mathew Stephen, a former MLA from Udumbanchola who left the Kerala Congress, and KD Lewis.
