SFI workers fight participants in Kerala university youth festival; parents injured in scuffle

ALAPPUZHA: A scuffle broke out in the Kerala University youth festival held in Ambalapuzha. The incident happened in Ambalapuzha govt college which was the venue for many events. The physical exchange happened between participants and SFI workers of the college. A participant and her mother were injured in the fight. Seeing this, the police hurled Lathi at the SFI workers. According to reports, more than eight SFI students have been injured in the police action.

The Ambalapuzha police have also registered a case against the SFI students for attacking participants.

The fight sprouted after the participants reached the stage in protest against the judge's decisions. A talk ensued for some time after which the SFI workers reached the stage trying to push away the participants.SFI workers say police acted without knowing the reality behind the incident. More than 20 SFI workers have been booked for hurting the participants.
