MALAPPURAM: Just days have passed after the state bid a tearful adieu to the victims of the Tanur boat tragedy. However, another incident has been reported from Ponnani and it seems nothing was learned from the shocker in Tanur. On the Ponnani shores, women and children embarked on a pleasure ride in the waters using a small fishing vessel. This happens at a time when the state is extra vigilant about the waterways and the transportation provided for passengers.

Eight people including women and children stepped into the boat for the daring act. The normal boating service was stopped on these shores after the Tanur capsizing. However, it proved no obstacle as the women and children easily got into the fishing vessel which could have easily capsized considering the irregular seating position of the passengers. No life jacket was seen in the vessel but luckily, Tanur was not repeated.
