NEW DELHI: Wrestling stars have extended the protest in the national capital to the IPL stage demanding the arrest of MP Brij Bhushan on the sexual harassment complaint. The protest including national wrestling stars was held in front of the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the venue for the match between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.

The police stopped the wrestlers who came with placards in front of the entrance gate. The wrestlers protested in front of gate number three later. Wrestler Sakshi Malik alleged that the Delhi Police did not allow him to enter the stadium despite coming with a ticket. They informed that the five players who arrived with tickets were transferred to another place after being informed that they would be given VIP treatment and later the police tried to take them into custody.

Meanwhile, the wrestlers who have been on strike for the past 28 days at Jantar Mantar in Delhi have announced that they will intensify their strike from today. After the expiry of the deadline given by the strike committee to arrest ex-wrestling federation president Brij Bhushan on sexual complaints including from minor sports players, the Khap Panchayat will decide on further strike programs. The protesting wrestlers had earlier announced that they would seek the support of foreign wrestlers including Olympians if needed.
