Suicide of Rakhisree: Met her at a camp in school, gifted her a phone, threatened her for rejecting love, parents file complaint

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The girl's family filed a complaint against a 28-year-old youth in connection with the suicide of their daughter Rakhisree (16), a native of Chirayinkeezhu, the day after she scored A plus in all subjects in the SSLC examination. The parents filed a complaint with the police against a native of Pulimoottil Kadavu near Chirayinkeezhu. The Chirayinkeezhu police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.

The girl’s father Rajeevan had levelled allegations against the role of the youth behind the suicide of his daughter. He told media that the youth constantly harassed his daughter and threatened to kill her if she rejects his love.

The girl met the youth at a camp held in the school six months ago. He later presented her a mobile phone. He also gave the contact numbers of his mother and sister if fails to get his call. He also threatened her saying that if she does not go with him, he will kill her. Letters of threat were also sent. Her father said that he stopped her near a bus stop on May 16 and threatened to harm her if she rejects him.

The Chirayinkeezhu police registered a case of unnatural death in the incident. Rakhisree (15) alias Devu was found hanging at her house yesterday. She was a student of Chirayinkeezhu Sharkara Sree Sarada Vilasam Girls Higher Secondary School. Rakhisree is the daughter of Rajeev and Srividya of Koonthalloor Panachuvilakam.
