Popular south Indian actor Sarath Babu passes away

HYDERABAD: Popular south Indian actor Sarath Babu passed away on Monday. He was 71. He has acted in more than 220 films including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. He was undergoing treatment for infection at AIG Hospital. He was a known face in Malayalam films. He has acted in Sharapancharam, Dhanya, Daisy etc.

Sarath Babu was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad from Bengaluru on April 20 after his health condition worsened due to infection. He was earlier undergoing treatment in a hospital in Chennai. He entered the film industry in 1973 and acted in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films in addition to Telugu. He has also acted in Malayalam films like Sabarimalayil Thanka Suryodayam, Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha, Poonnilamazha and Prashna Parihara Shaala.

Acting with Rajinikanth in Muthu and Annamalai earned Sarath Babu a Tamil fan following. He got many films after that.
