'Mr. Modi, you can call us whatever you want, we are INDIA'; Rahul replies to PM's statement

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi responded to the Prime Minister for mocking the Opposition for using the name 'INDIA'.

He replied, "Mr. Modi, call us whatever you want... we are 'INDIA.' We will help heal Manipur and wipe away the tears of women and children." Rahul Gandhi expressed through Twitter that love and peace will be extended to all people.

Call us whatever you want, Mr. Modi.

We are INDIA.

We will help heal Manipur and wipe the tears of every woman and child. We will bring back love and peace for all her people.

We will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur.

Modi's remark was sarcastic, suggesting that India's name is associated with the East India Company and the Indian Mujahideen, implying that the mere name of India holds no meaning. The opposition coalition was named "INDIA" at the meeting in Bengaluru last week.
