KOCHI: The High Court has ordered to stay further proceedings of the cases related to 'namajapa' procession carried out following the myth controversy. The stay of the court is for four weeks. The court's order followed a petition filed by NSS vice-president Sangeeth Kumar.
The court stopped further proceedings in the case after examining the government's stand. The NSS' 'namajapa ghoshayatra' was held following the speech of the speaker AN Shamseer on Lord Ganesha being a myth. The police filed a case on the allegation that they ignored the warning and organized and obstructed the traffic. A case was filed against Sangeeth Kumar as the first accused and about a thousand identifiable persons. Following this, Sangeeth Kumar filed a petition in the High Court.
