Kudumbashree Cafes going newgen

KOLLAM: Kudumbashree with a chain of premium hotels on the model of luxury hotels after Janakeeya Hotels. The fully air-conditioned restaurants will serve delicious food with modern amenities. The first premium cafe, started on a trial basis in the municipal building adjacent to the Guruvayur private bus stand, is running profitably.

Kudumbashree has earmarked an amount to start five premium hotels this year, but more may be started. Sites have been found near Thrissur Sakthan Round and in Thodupuzha. Special facility will be provided for vehicle parking.

Specially trained Kudumbashree units are responsible for management. AIFRAM Kudumbashree unit in Thrissur, which has received expert training in hotel management, is providing training in other centres also. The chefs here will be supervising the new cafes on specific days.

20 lakhs for infrastructure

Kudumbashree will provide Rs 20 lakhs for the infrastructure of each cafe. No need to repay this amount. If more amount is required then the units should raise it on their own.
