THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 169th Sri Narayana Gurudeva Jayanti will be celebrated across the world today with devotion. Jayanti procession, special prayers, pujas and public gatherings will be organized at Sivagiri Mutt and affiliated Mutts under the auspices of SNDP Yogam and other Sree Narayana establishments. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the Jayanti Mahasammelanam at 6:30 pm today at Chempazhanthy Sree Narayana Gurukulam, the birthplace of Gurudev. Kadakampally Surendran MLA will preside. Swami Satchidananda, President of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, will deliver the Jayanti message.
A special pooja and community prayer will be held at Vayalvaram house at 6 am. Opposition Leader VD Satheesan will inaugurate the Sree Narayana Philosophical Conference at 10 am. Swami Rithambarananda, former general secretary of the Dharmasangham Trust, will preside. Minister V Sivankutty will inaugurate the Thiru Jayanthi procession at 3 pm. VK Prashant MLA will preside. The Jayanti procession will start from Gurukulam at 4 pm and will proceed through Udayagiri, Janatha Road, Chellamangalam, Chekkalamukku, Venchavode till Chembazaranti Post Office Junction and conclude at Gurukulam.
Jayanti will also be celebrated with elaborate programs at Sivagiri, the Mahasamadhi place of Gurudev. Swami Satchidananda, President of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, will hoist the Dharma flag at 7:30 am.
Minister Mohammed Riyas will inaugurate the Jayanti conference at 9:30 am. Swami Satchidananda will preside and deliver the Jayanti message. The proclamation procession will start from the Mahasamadhi at 3 pm ahead of the Jayanthi procession. At 4:30 p.m. the Jayanti procession will leave from the Mahasamadhi. The Gurudeva rickshaw will be accompanied by Panchavadyam, 60 Ceremonial Umbrellas, a chariot carrying the Gurudeva idol, floats decorated on the basis of Gurudeva darshan, musical ensembles and art forms.
Minister GR Anil will inaugurate the Jayanti meeting under the auspices of the Math at the historic spot Aruvippuram where Gurudev consecrated the Shiva image. Aruvippuram Math Secretary Swami Sandrananda will preside.
