Heavy rain, landslides in Gavi; shutters of Moozhiyar Dam opened

PATHANAMTHITTA: Three shutters of the Moozhiyar Dam of the Kakkad water storage project were opened following heavy rain. A landslide has been reported in the catchment area of ​​Moozhiyar Dam. Heavy rain continues in the region even late at night. Landslides occurred at many places in the Pathanamthitta - Gavi route.

The rain started in the Moozhiyar region on Friday evening. By six o'clock, there was a strong flow of water in the Sayippinkuzhi stream. The shutters of the dam were raised when the water level rose.
