crime

KOCHI: A petition has been filed in the High Court to transfer the trial of Sharon murder case to Tamil Nadu. Since the incident took place in Tamil Nadu, the main accused Greeshma and her co-accused mother Sindhu and uncle Nirmal Kumaran Nair argued that the trial should be held there.

Justice PV Kunjikrishnan, who heard the petition yesterday, ordered an extension for three weeks if the court did not charge the accused. The petition was adjourned to 25.

The case is being tried in Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court. The home of the accused is Poomballikonam in Kanyakumari district.

Greeshma's bail plea in the case has been transferred to another bench for adjudication. The case is that on October 14, 2022, Greeshma called her lover Sharon to her house and killed him by giving a poisoned concoction.
