It was a cherubic day for team India at the Hangzhou Asian Games, as the nation clinched two gold on the second day of the event. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Rudraksh Patil bagged the country's first gold at the Games with a world record in men's shooting 10m air rifle team event.
Meanwhile, it was icing on the cake for the Women’s cricket team, as they clinched gold in their maiden-ever participation in the Asian games. India defeated Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final to win the gold. Malayali player Minnu Mani also got a place on the medal list.
India won two bronze medals yesterday in shooting. Aishwary Pratap Singh won the individual event while Adarsh Singh, Anish and Vijayveer Sidhu won the 25m rapid-fire pistol team event. India also won two bronze medals in rowing events. The day began with the quartet of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish getting bronze in the men's fours event while Satnam Singh, Parminder Singh, Jakar Khan and Sukhmeet Singh finished third on the podium in the men’s quadruple sculls.
