THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain will continue in the state for 5 more days. This is due to the influence of the low pressure formed in the northwest Bay of Bengal near the West Bengal-Odisha coast and the cyclonic circulation over south Rajasthan. Rainfall will be heavy in hilly areas of southern districts and in northern districts. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea.
Meanwhile, the South West Monsoon has begun to recede. A 38 percent decrease in rainfall has been recorded so far in the Monsoon.
